Warm White Paint Color that Does Not Contain Yellow.

I belong to a number of online interior design groups, some are professional and others are open to the general public. Within these groups, there is a paint color question which repeats itself MOST frequently. And the ever popular question is... "I would like to use a warm white paint color on the walls throughout my home but I want something that does not contain yellow. Can you help?"

When I read these posts, I sort of smile to myself because the truth is, you will never find a warm white that does not contain yellow. Yellow *is* the warmth. However, I have a remedy and that is, you must find a white paint shade that contains just a small amount of yellow along with additional pigments like brown or black to create a taupe undertone and/or nuance of sorts. A few of my favorite examples are- pearly white, shoji white and origami white by Sherwin Williams. Pearly white is featured in the image above.

Now this information should get you started on the right path but the most crucial factor is testing a variety of options in your space. No two lighting scenarios within a home are exactly the same and this is where online color chatter can lead you astray. If you feel overwhelmed in your search for the perfect white paint color, consider hiring a designer for a color consult. My clients love this service!

Cheers, Jessamy :)
